AVID is a world-wide college readiness program for underserved students. AVID’s mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. Many of the students in AVID’s elective classes are first generation college goers, lack the financial resources necessary for a college education, do not have the support structure for college readiness in place at home, yet have good minds, work very hard for high academic achievement, and have college degree attainment as their early adulthood goal. AVID’s methods and strategies serve to improve school-wide achievement by opening access and opportunity for all students. Please support AVID in their First Annual AVID Community Garage Sale
