High school seniors, parents, youth counselors, and college students of all ages and classifications can learn about scholarships offered by The George Foundation and how to apply for them at a free workshop on Feb. 10th. The workshop will be held on the University of Houston System at Sugar Land campus in Room 103 of Brazos Hall, 14004 University Blvd., Sugar Land. Registration 6:30 p.m. Presentations 6:45 p.m - 7:45 p.m RICE for High School Students is a continuing studies program that allows students to get college credit during the summer. It is open to rising juniors and seniors.

This is a message to all sophomore and junior parents from the Elkins Counseling office. Did you receive your student’s PSAT scores earlier this month and have questions about what they mean or what your student should do next? Join the Elkins Counselors on Tuesday, February 1st, to learn how to understand your student’s score report and find out about all the free college and career planning information available to them through their College Board account. The program will start at 7:00 p.m. in the Elkins Auditorium. We look forward to seeing you on February 1st.
This is a message to all senior parents from the Elkins Counseling office. On Tuesday, February 1st, we are hosting a Financial Aid Program for seniors and their parents. Financial aid personnel from a local college will explain the application process for financial aid and answer specific questions you might have about completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Please join us in the Elkins library at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1st.
On February 3rd, FBISD will host a United States Service Academy/ROTC Academy Program at the FBISD Administration Building. The program will start at 6:30 and will include representatives from West Point, the Coast Guard Academy, the Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, and the Merchant Marine. Any student in grades 8 - 11 interested in one of these academies should plan to attend.
Vouchers are now available for you to take a FREE ACT or SAT test this spring. You may pick up your voucher in the counseling office before or after school OR in the GO Center during lunch. Vouchers will not be
Did you know that evening school classes are for students that need to retake a class they previously failed or take a new class for original credit? Evening school can help you catch up or even get ahead. Your counselors can tell you what classes are offered.
Registration is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; Jan. 25, 26, and 27 at Progressive High School. That's next week. There is NO late registration so if you are interested, see your counselor as soon as possible to get your registration materials. Evening School classes are from 5 to 7:30 and do not interfere with day school, and you can take one or two classes. Talk to your counselor now -- don't delay. |
