The University of Texas at Tyler will hold “College Showcase Week” for prospective students and their families Feb. 10 – 13, Sarah Bowdin, interim assistant vice president for enrollment management, announced.
The event features four of the six UT Tyler colleges:
Participants will tour their chosen college’s facilities, view award-winning student projects and learn about outstanding programs. Parents and prospective students will also have the opportunity to meet with UT Tyler faculty and current students who represent the respective college. UT Tyler enrollment management representatives will be available each day to answer admissions and financial aid questions. Lunch will be provided. Freshmen thru Juniors: The College and Career Center will be hosting a field trip to attend a College Fair at the University of St. Thomas on February 3rd. 10 Freshmen, 10 Sophomores and 18 Juniors will be allowed to attend. The sign-up sheet will be available Thursday, January 23rd, inside Mrs. McClain’s office.
Learn, ask questions and get answers about 1)How to fill out FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Forms, 2) How scholarship applications are evaluated, and 3) How to access scholarships for high school graduating seniors and those currently pursuing a college degree. This event will be held on January 23, 2014 in Room 103 (Susan Ryon Davis Multipurpose Room) of Brazos Hall, University of Houston Sugar Land, 14004 University Blvd. Sugar Land, TX 77479. Registration is at 6:00 p.m. with presentations from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Registration for the event is not required, but seating is limited.
