Catalyst will host a one-weekend seminar at Lost Creek Conference Center that will arm students with go-to strategies for every question they’re guaranteed to face on the SAT. HLA Night School is about to begin! We will offer 2 types of courses this Fall. 1) Blended School: 3 hours of teacher instruction on Tuesday or Thursday night from 5:30pm to 8:30pm and the rest of the assignments are completed via computer or written assignments throughout the week. Blended school is considered College Prep (CP) needing self-direction & discipline to successfully complete the rigor of coursework; OR 2) Virtual School: All coursework completed via internet and the tests/finals taken at the school. Virtual courses are considered Regular education (TX). Attached are the forms needed for enrollment. Night School begins October 2nd and ending on December 13th. Cost is $305 per semester course. All Fort Bend High school students have the opportunity to take a practice ACT or SAT on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Elkins High School (7007 Knights Court, Missouri City, 77459) at 8:00 am. The cost is $15 and the deadline to register is September 21, 2012.
Fort Bend ISD’s Student Support Services Department will host two College Nights, one on October 2 and another on October 4, to give current high school juniors and seniors, and their parents or guardians, the opportunity to learn about educational opportunities available from accredited colleges and universities. Representatives from more than 100 colleges and universities from across the nation will be available to meet with students and their families to share information regarding admission requirements, financial aid, student housing, and more! The first College Night will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Travis High School (in the school’s Commons located at 11111 Harlem Road Richmond, TX 77406), from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The second College Night will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Ridge Point High School (in the school’s Commons located at 500 Waters Lake Boulevard Missouri City, TX 77459), from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Although the event is geared toward 11th and 12th grade students, all high school students are invited to attend. For more information, parents are asked to please contact their student's counselor at Elkins.. STUDENTS and TEACHER: MINI COLLEGE FAIR scheduled in the girls gym on Monday, September 24th during ALL LUNCHES. All grade levels are invited to attend.
