He sped 41 yards to score Travis’ final touchdown, nailing down a 42-30 win over Elkins for the District 23-5A crown at Hall Stadium on Friday.
“I saw field and I saw end zone and I just ran,” Rhine said. “I knew we were going to win the game if I could just reach that end zone.”
It was the second time Travis (6-4) has played for a district title in the three years the school has fielded a varsity team. The first time was in 2008, when the Tigers lost 38-0 to Hightower, a team that went on to compete in the Class 5A Division I state championship.... READ MORE
