Jessica Monali placed 2nd in the 1600 meter run destroying the school record. The 1600 meter relay team of Bianca Hatfield, Kiah Rayford, Nia Davis and Ashley Davis placed 3rd. The 800 meter relay and the 400 meter relay both finished 4th and qualified for the area meet. Great job girls, good luck at the area meet!
Koya Sowells finished lst in the triple jump; Markiah Mason finished lst in the discus; Siobahn Simmons won the 1600 meter run; Lyric Bass finished 2nd in the 800 meter run and 3rd in the 400 meter dash. Jasmine Black placed 2nd in the 100 meter hurdles. The 4x100 meter relay team of Brianna Howard, J’Nae Davis, Koya Sowells, and Jasmine Black finished 3rd; and, the 4x100 meter relay of Brianna Howard, Alyssa Lindsey, J’Nae Davis, and Lyric Bass finished 3rd. •GREAT JOB GIRLS!!!
Congrats to Ruth A. who placed first in the 300 meter hurdles at the Regional Track Meet. The 4x400 Meter Relay Team of Ebanga A., Amber G., Alexis S., and Ruth A. placed third. Ebanga placed 5th overall in the 400 meter dash and Amber placed 6th in the 800 meter run. Great job Girls! Good luck at State Ruth!
Congrats to Ben Still for receiving the 2010 Texas Girl’s Track Coach of the Year!!! He received the award last Friday at University of Houston.

Take away all of her confidence and she's dynamite, too. In fact, nothing changes at all. Despite feeling poorly, the Elkins High School senior capped her prep career by winning her second straight Class 5A state championship in the 200-meter dash Saturday night.
