Starting next week, students will be participating in STAAR EOC tests.
Beginning on Tuesday., May 6th for Algebra I, Wed., May 7th for Biology, and Thurs., May 8th for U. S. History. Students who did not score a level 2 during previous administrations will also be tested. If you are involved in testing, please bring a sack lunch & a book. Please leave all electronic devices at home. Students with electronic devices on their person during testing will not have their tests scored. The deadline for enrollment on this trip is April 30th, 2014. See Mr. Crosby in room 602 for more info.
Anyone interested in joining Young Life for the 2014-2015 school year please plan to attend an interest meeting on Thursday, April 25th at 2:45 in Mr. Slate's room 135. If you are a part of FCA or John 3:16 you are welcome to join us for the informative meeting. We will be making a plan about the formation of the group and what it means to be in Young Life. Fort Bend ISD is sharing this information about the district and your child’s campus with you as part of its obligations under the federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB). Federal Report Cards for the state, the district, and each of the district’s campuses are now available on the district’s website at this link: http://www.fortbendisd.com/ or are also available on the Texas Education Agency’s website at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/index4.aspx?id=4638&menu_id=2147483742. Information on these report cards includes: Part I: Student Achievement by Proficiency Level – Provides the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) performance results for each subject area and grade level tested. Part II: Student Achievement and State Academic Annual Measurable Objects (AMOs) – Provides the STAAR performance results for each subject area tested. Also includes four-year and five-year graduation rates and participation rates on STAAR for reading/English and mathematics. Part III: Priority and Focus Schools – Priority schools are the lowest 5% of Title I served campuses based on performance in reading and mathematics and graduation rates. Focus schools are 10% of Title I served campuses, not already identified as priority schools, that have the widest gaps between student group performance and safeguard targets. Part IV: Teacher Quality Data – Provides information on teacher quality in three parts. Part A – Percent of Teachers by Highest Degree Held – Professional qualifications of all public elementary and secondary teachers in the Texas. Part B and C – Teachers with Emergency/Provisional Credentials, Highly Qualified (HQ) Teachers Low Poverty/Low Poverty Summary Reports – Percentage of all public elementary and secondary school teachers teaching with emergency or provisional credentials, and the percentage of classes in the state not taught by highly qualified teachers disaggregated by high-poverty compared to low-poverty schools. Part V: Graduates Enrolled in Texas Institution of Higher Education (IHE) – Provides the percentage of students who enroll and begin instruction at an institution of higher education in the school year following high school graduation. Part VI: Statewide National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) Results – Provides most recent NAEP results for Texas showing reading and mathematics performance results and participation rates, disaggregated by student group.
