Each year two (2) sophomores are selected to represent Elkins High School at the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership award weekend. These two (2) sophomores will attend a weekend long leadership summit at Texas A&M Galveston in June. Elkins High School would like to congratulate this year’s recipients of the HOBY award: Omar Khadimally and Joyce Chen. If you see these students throughout the day, be sure to congratulate them.
Testing begins on Monday, Dec. 2nd through Friday, Dec. 13th. Students must receive a satisfactory score in order to graduate, so please do your best! Students that are testing should bring a sack lunch, remember to put ALL cell phones away during testing, and you must report to the testing room by 7:30am for the (4) hour timed test. Please see Ms. Novosad in Room 434 or your Counselor in Office 402, if you have any questions.
All students must report to the commons by 6:00pm. There will be a small reception in the Library preceding the ceremony that will start at 5:30pm. Please see Mr. Tucker (Office 401) or Ms. Sands (Office 402), if you have any questions.
. Toys for Tots and Santa’s Exchange 2013 are proud to have your support for the annual Toys for Kids drive. The Sugar Land Exchange Club, the Sugar Land Rotary Club, and the Fort Bend Exchange Club, and Project Smile, and now for the last (2) years joining forces with Toys for Tots, to provide Christmas gifts for deserving children in Fort Bend County.

You may sign up in the clinic during your lunch period or before and after school. Faculty, staff, parents and members of the community are encourage to participate. Let’s make this the best Blood Drive ever!!!

The Houston Chapter of the Clark Atlanta University Alumni Association is sponsoring a trip for 11th and 12th grade college bound students only; the Atlanta University Center (AUC), including Clark Atlanta University, Spellman College, and Morehouse College, on Jan. 23rd-Jan. 26, 2014.
