FORT BEND ISD ― Fort Bend ISD will host its 2011 Quiz Bowl Competition on Thursday, January 27, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Wheeler Field House, located at 16403 Lexington Blvd., in Sugar Land. This free event will give FBISD high school students the opportunity to test their knowledge of the 2011 Diversity Conference theme, “Walking in Another’s Shoes.” Teams of four students (and one alternate) representing all FBISD high schools will compete in the Quiz Bowl. The two highest-scoring teams will go on to compete for the District Quiz Bowl Championship Title at the FBISD Diversity Conference, which will be held February 25.
“FBISD is committed to celebrating our diversity and promoting character development of students. The Quiz Bowl Contest will provide students with a unique opportunity to make meaningful connections between what they study and its real-life applications. This event will enhance student learning and foster shared responsibility among our community to create a safe and healthy environment,” said Ilene Harper, Assistant Director of Student Support Services.
The public is invited to attend the event and support a favorite FBISD high school on January 27 at FBISD's Annual Quiz Bowl! For more information, please call FBISD's Student Support Services Department at 281-634-1131.
