The Fort Bend ISD soccer season has been going on for the past two months but for a handful of teams this week is the only one that matters now.
Five of the eight playoff berths still are undecided. Only the Austin girls, Kempner boys and Clements boys have clinched spots in the postseason.
Six points separate four boys teams fighting for the last two playoff berths. Five points separate six girls teams, though only one playoff berth likely is in question based on the remaining schedules for teams in second and third place.
“This is probably our biggest week of the whole season,” Elkins girls coach Chelsea Larsen said. “We’ve played well all season but because of the competition in this district it takes one loss to drop into a lot of tiebreakers or even a chance not to make the playoffs.”...READ MORE
