Our Youth In Philanthropy (YIP) students made Elkins shine today at the 16th Annual Investment in Youth Luncheon. Students representing 19 campuses in and around Fort Bend County (around 140 students in all) have participated in service projects throughout the school year. They give up one Saturday per month to participate with a team of students in a full day project that benefits numerous charitable organizations throughout Fort Bend County. The students were recognized today for their service projects and scholarships were awarded. Three of our students received scholarships and one received the TOP prize – a $5,000 scholarship! Chelsea Coney also participated this year but did not receive a scholarship. When you see these seniors, please congratulate them:
Brianna Cobos $600
Ann Johnson $600
Nicholas Alexander $5,000
Nicholas’ application letter was very moving and was read before the 600+ people at this county-wide luncheon. We are so proud of these Knights!
