As usual, the 2010 football season featured lots of top-flight talent throughout Fort Bend ISD. Here are the Sun’s picks for the best players.
The Offensive Player of the Year will be revealed on Thursday morning. The Defensive Player of the Year will be revealed Thursday night.
FIRST TEAM DEFENSE
LINEMEN
Jordan Helm, Marshall (Sr.): A finalist for the Touchdown Club of Houston’s Defensive Player of the Year, he had two sacks among 42 tackles, four forced fumbles and nine quarterback hurries.
Chad Jones, Bush (Sr.): He had 48 total tackles and led the district with 19 tackles for loss. He also forced two fumbles.
Jaylon Jordan, Elkins (Sr.): He led all defensive players with seven sacks.
Emmanuel Ogbah, Bush (Jr.): One of the district’s best defensive playmakers, he scored three defensive touchdowns and one special teams touchdown. Two of his defensive touchdowns came within two minutes during the same game. He made 48 tackles, including six for loss, and recovered three fumbles.....READ MORE
