It's been an up-and-down season for Hightower and Elkins. They both have three wins and three losses.
But whoever losses this game will be on the way down at the wrong time.
"I hate to say it like this, but this may be a make-or-break game for whoever loses," Hightower coach Padriac McGinnis said.
"If you lose … you may be out of it."
That doesn't mean either team will stop fighting after their rivalry showdown at 7 p.m. on Friday at Mercer Stadium. But it'll be an uphill battle for the loser in a tightly contested district race.
