Kempner High School boys soccer coach William Miller said before the season he thought his team would be in the thick of the playoff race. Four weeks into the district schedule his players have proved him right.
Thanks to three wins last week the Cougars are in sole possession of first place and four points clear of nine-time reigning district champ Clements. The first half of district play ends on Tuesday, and Kempner faces the tall task of playing Elkins.
