By COREY ROEPKEN Clements High School athletes excelled in the pool and on the pitch this season to help their school extend its lead in the second Fort Bend ISD All-Sports Cup. Schools earn points based on their teams’ performances during district play and in the postseason. The Sun keeps the scoring system a secret except for a few details. The most points a team can earn in any season is 30. It is a creation of the Fort Bend Sun and the Sugar Land Sun newspapers. The competition is divided into three sessions – fall, winter and spring. Clements won all three sessions en route to the overall title during the 2009-10 school year. It has won the first two sessions this year. It was his first collegiate goal…Clements grad Ross Kelly (Coastal Carolina) started and put two of his four shots on goal in a win over Winthrop. He also started and took one shot in a loss to North Carolina State…Clements grad Will Morse (Florida-Gulf Coast) came off the bench and took two shots as FGC defeated Stetson to claim its first Atlantic Sun Conference championship…Clements grad Matt Boullt (Tulsa) started two games on defense and had two shots on goal…Hightower grad Sebastien Ibeagha (Duke) started and assisted on the winning goal against Furman.
