Willie Yarber admits he still needs to find the right button to push before the Elkins High School girls basketball team can become a playoff contender.
Right now that task must feel like sitting in a cockpit with no flying classes to his credit.
The Lady Knights lost to Class 4A Manvel, 52-39, Tuesday night. It is their fourth loss in a row. They had not lost three games in a row in Yarber's first six seasons as coach. Elkins has won two of its first nine games - a stark contrast from the program that has been to the playoffs four of the last five seasons and is coming off a run to the third round.
