Want to know where your favorite team fits in with the rest of Fort Bend ISD? Check out this week's Sun power rankings.
1. Hightower (17-3, 2-0): The Lady Canes have been rolling since their embarrassing loss to Atascocita. The current run includes a 92-51 victory over Austin in which they played out of this world.
2. Austin (14-7, 1-1): Sure the Lady Bulldogs got blown out on Saturday, but it took a fantastic performance from the best team in Houston to do it. Austin will be fine. The Lady Bulldogs proved that much by building a big lead and beating Katy Seven Lakes on Tuesday. They get a chance to prove their superiority over the rest of the district with a game against Clements on Jan. 4.
3. Clements (12-4, 2-0): This officially is uncharted territory for the Lady Rangers. They haven’t made the playoffs since 2003 and the team’s only senior (London Hayes) hasn’t even sniffed the postseason. After beating an improving Elkins team by 15 points on Saturday, though, the Lady Rangers are on the way up.
4. Elkins (6-14, 1-1): The Lady Knights took a big step forward by beating Kempner in the district opener, but they probably view the performance against Clements as a step back. They’ll have Kansas signee Donielle Breaux back for the rest of district play so expect Elkins to have more positive steps than negative the rest of the way....READ MORE
