Five and a half weeks ago high school girls basketball teams across Texas began their seasons with hopes great accomplishments.
Some hoped for winning records. Some hoped to make the playoffs. Some hoped to win it all.

They get a fast start, too. They’ll play one another on Friday and Saturday before taking a break for a few more non-district games.
The teams are divided into two zones but only as a way of balancing the schedule. The top four records still make the playoffs, but each team will play the teams in its zone twice and the five teams in the other zone once.
Zone A is comprised of Austin, Bush, Dulles, Hightower and Travis. Zone B has Clements, Elkins, Kempner, Marshall and Willowridge.
