Elkins High School is hosting the Global Tapestry Middle School Bullying Summit on January 20, 2012 at the EHS library. The event will begin at 9:00 and last until 1:30. Student leaders from TEAR, Student Council, and Red Cross will facilitate the conference.
The EHS middle school bullying summit will teach the middle school participants to write public service announcements that can be read on their prospective campuses during their announcements. These public service announcements will explain the importance of reporting acts of bullying. Each participant will use the computer to develop a set of bullying posters for their campuses that they will take back to display for the student body. Participants will also participate in role playing situations that will provide them with appropriate responses to situations involving bulling. If time permits the students will participate in the butterfly coloring contest. A continental breakfast of muffins and juice will be provided for all participants and a catered lunch of pizza and salad will be served to all the guests. FBISD administrators and board members along with community members are invited to attend the event. Please RSVP to Jackie Bickerstaff if you can join us for lunch. |
