Freshman applications are being accepted through Friday, October 29th for the Principal's Student Advisory Committee. Please complete and submit the application below to the Front Office. Please Pick Up Homecoming Pictures In Room 133 (Mrs. Lockey's room) during all lunches. Pictures will only be given to the individual who purchased them.
The deadline to turn in Sophomore Class Officer Nominations to Room 438 is this Friday, Oct. 22nd.
Wednesday, October 20th is the last day in which EHS students can get a student ID badge without paying a $5.00 replacement fee or $1.00 for a temporary ID badge.
Please see Mr. Gloster during lunch on Wednesday if you are a student new to EHS, have lost an ID, had an ID stolen, or have a temporary ID. Beginning Thursday, Oct. 21st all students who do not have an ID badge will be required to either pay $5.00 to replace an ID badge or $1.00 for a temporary ID badge. In addition, there will be disciplinary action for a student not wearing an ID badge. Remember that a EHS safety goal for 2010 - 2011 is for all students, staff and visitors to wear visible ID or visitor badges. Support the Elkins Red Cross Club and the Greater Houston Area Red Cross with your spare change. Donate your spare change during all 3 lunches to save lives, support the local chapter and buy needed supplies for people in parts of the world most in need. Give Change! Make a Change!
Open enrollment for FBISD Employee Benefits. Employees, please enroll in benefits using the self serve portal. Assistance is being offered for on-line enrollment at the Administration Building Room 222, Monday through Friday beginning October 18th and ending October 28th. Extended hours until 6:00 p.m. are being offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays of each week. There is also a Saturday opportunity for enrollment at Fort Settlement Middle School at 9:00 a.m. until noon on Saturday, October 23rd. The 23rd is also a make-up day for wellness screenings but you must register in advance.

The PSAT will be given this Wednesday. Students need to bring their ID, pencils, and calculators.
Rosters are posted in the front of the school and in the cafeteria with testing room assignments. Please check these rosters before Wednesday so you know the location of your testing room. Please report to your testing room first thing Wednesday morning. To prepare for test day, review your practice test, get a good night's sleep on Tuesday, and eat breakfast on Wednesday. It is important to do your best on the exam. By taking the PSAT/NMSQT, students who meet entry requirements may enter NMSC’s scholarship competitions. PSAT measures skills important for college success and provides students with the tools they need to start planning for the future. The PSAT/NMSQT and SAT measure the same skills and have the same format, directions and questions types. On average, students who take the PSAT/NMSQT earn higher scores on the SAT than those who do not. High school students who take the test (usually in their junior year of high school) may be eligible to enter National Merit Scholarship Corporation’s competitions for recognition and scholarships. High achieving Hispanic and African American high school juniors may also enter other programs that give special recognition.
