Additional Feb. 17 meeting scheduled
FORT BEND ISD – Fort Bend Independent School District is conducting four Town Hall Meetings for community members to learn more about the state budget cuts and the potential impact the cuts could have on FBISD. The actual impact of the state’s budget shortfall will not be known until the Legislature adopts a state budget, which is not expected until this summer. Meanwhile, the district must proceed with planning the district budget for next school year with the presumption that it may have to be adjusted after the state adopts its budget. For detailed budget information, visit the district website at fortbendisd.com and open “2011 Budget Challenges.”
The Budget Town Hall meetings will present an overview of all the issues under consideration, and provide an opportunity to address citizen comments and questions. All meetings will take place from 7:00 – 8:30 pm in the cafeterias of the campuses listed below.
